February 29, 2016 – Two additional U.S. Senators and five members of the House of Representatives have signed on as co-sponsors of the Local Radio Freedom Act. They include Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME).
Three members of New Hampshire’s congressional delegation already support the act: Senator Kelly Ayotte (R), Rep. Annie Kuster (D) and Rep. Frank Guinta (R). Each of them reaffirmed their support during a recent visit on Capitol Hill with members of NHAB’s Board of Directors.
The Local Radio Freedom ACt is a resolution that opposes “any new performance fee, tax, royalty, or other charge” on local broadcast radio stations. It now has 225 co-sponsors in the House and 23 in the Senate.
