Manchester, NH (June 9, 2015) – With the recent announcement that the Federal Communication Commission’s Boston field office will remain open, the following statement can be attributed to Jordan Walton, Executive Director of the New Hampshire Association of Broadcasters:
“The over-the-air television and radio broadcasters of New Hampshire applaud both Senator Kelly Ayotte and Senator Jeanne Shaheen for their leadership in keeping the FCC’s Boston Field office open. FCC field offices are key to resolving interference disputes, minimizing spectrum conflicts and shutting down radio pirates. Having an effective field operation is critical to policing public airwaves in New Hampshire today and into the future. Local television and radio broadcasters appreciate Senator Ayotte’s and Shaheen’s engagement to ensure that the Boston field office remains open and available to address spectrum issues in New Hampshire. This decision by the FCC allows New Hampshire’s broadcast stations to continue to provide entertainment, news, weather and critical emergency information to the Granite State for many years to come.”
