(February 20, 2019) – A total of 987 full power and Class A stations are waiting in line for compensation from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) as a result of last year’s voluntary spectrum auction and subsequent repack. According to the February issue of Antenna, the free broadcast newsletter for NHAB members, the Congress increased the original pot of $1.75 billion by another billion dollars to cover all stations that needed to relocate antennae or install new transmitters.
This issue contains an article about the FCC’s Media Bureau requesting public comment on the current state of video description, including data about its availability, use, benefits and costs.
